Do The Purge

Back in August I started a series of articles about getting through darkness whether it be caused by stress, anxiety, chronic pain, illness, grief or depression.  Looking back on my life-long struggle with darkness, I could see a pattern - and by taking tiny steps toward positivity I could slowly drag myself out of the depths of the darkness and the heavy suction pull of its vacuum.  This series that I started back in August (2024) share these tiny steps that lead toward positivity. Feel free to scroll back, August - present day, to find more articles like this. Do The Purge Sharing how we feel can seem like we are imposing on others. We don't want to bring them down into the dumps with us, that is for sure. We don't want to get them worried about us, regularly expressing concern for us after we unload on them.  Sharing can be difficult simply because it is hard to put how we are feeling in word format.  One of the tricks I learned was simply purging how I felt in on...

Break The Pattern

Back in August I started a series of articles about getting through darkness whether it be caused by stress, anxiety, chronic pain, illness, grief or depression.  Looking back on my life-long struggle with darkness, I could see a pattern - by taking tiny steps toward positivity and I could slowly drag myself out of the depths of the darkness and the heavy suction pull of its vacuum.  This series that I started back in August (2024) share these tiny steps that lead toward positivity. Feel free to scroll back, August - present day, to find more articles like this. Break The Pattern Sadly when we are going through stress, anxiety, chronic pain, anger or insomnia, depression or grief... when we are going through that we tend to do so alone. We hide how we are feeling from others. We don't want to impose. We don't want to weight them down.  ...We don't want them to hold us accountable either. We fear judgement, we can't trust our bodies, and we fear estrangement. Being in da...

Cut Out The Negativity

Back in August I started a series of articles about getting through darkness whether it be caused by stress, anxiety, chronic pain, illness, grief or depression.  Looking back on my own struggle with darkness, I could see a pattern - by taking tiny steps toward positivity and I could slowly drag myself out of the depths of the darkness and the heavy suction pull of its vacuum.  Today we continue this discussion with another simple positive habit for you, along with a few examples to help you apply it to your own daily life. Cut Out The Negativity When darkness comes in to our lives it is important to cut negative things out. Especially when we are easily triggered and feel vulnerable, susceptible to negativity. We can change this simply by feeding our minds with positivity, and eradicating anything negative.  Embrace Silence  Keep the device controls handy so that you can silence ads by pressing mute and wait patiently for them to end. Children, safety & health

-- Quote of the Day --  “ What worked for me is to have a date night where we could get away with each of the children where I participated in an activity that they enjoyed – allowing them to have that quality time where you can focus on one another. …We have to do a lot of education on our part – because when we see a person with a disability we overcompensate or we feel so overwhelmed that we don’t know how to respond to them. So help people become educated about what they can and cannot do. … …Everybody has a talent – tap into that talent and give them the opportunities and the tools to help them become successful. …If you are out there dealing with children with special needs remember that they are capable of wonderful success – don’t look at them for what they cannot do; look at what they can do. Nurture that and help them develop that into a skill .” ~ Victoria Marin Today’s quote originates from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio episod...

Chronic Pain/Depression

bio-fuels, eco-news & events, caring for the chronically ill or injured

-- Quote of the Day -- Re: When someone becomes ill or injured... “… Almost anything that you do will help. …Figure out what you can do and offer something specific – such as ‘Can I come by on Thursday afternoons and mow the lawn?’ …Appoint a Captain of Kindness so that when people come up to you and say ‘What can I do to help?’ you can say, well Joan Smith is my Captain of Kindness, so you can contact her if you’d like to help. …The Captain of Kindness can ask for things that the patient may not be comfortable asking for – like money. …(Patients) appreciate getting a card from someone, but they really appreciate the person who gives them many cards – it means that person is continually thinking about them. It is hard to support someone long term, and that is why it is more meaningful. I would say, just do what you can do. …My job is to… help cancer survivors function at their highest level. I’m working with hospitals to …provide the kinds of services that survivors really need and are...
