World of Writing today

-- Quote of the Day -- “ …A good play is liberating because it takes you out of your own voice - and forces you to speak in your character's voice. …There are two pleasure points in play-writing. One is the writing - and the other is sitting in the audience and watching the audience respond to what you’ve done. But in between these two pleasures, is some pretty nasty stuff (he laughs) called auditions, rehearsals, design meetings…”  ~ Gordon Osmond Today's quote comes from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio interview that aired back on March 1st with Gordon: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/consciousdiscussions/2011/03/01/world-of-writing-w-gordon-osmond  -- World of Writing Interview -- We have a World of Writing interview with children's author Bruce Lawley, his site is:  www.animazings.com Q: How have your books gotten published? writer interview #12

-- Writer Interview #12 -- Lillian interviews Katie Salidas, an author with a sincere passion to entertain. Katie tells us that since early childhood, she's dreamed up fantastical characters and scribbled them into pages of various journals and notebooks. Taking an interest in vampires at an early age, she devoured every book, featuring those blood-sucking creatures, in any genre she could find. It was only natural that a love of reading about vampires, and a love of writing, turned into a desire to write her own stories. She is the author of the new vampire series, Immortalis Carpe Noctem.  Find Katie at: http://www.risingsignbooks.com   K: Lillian, thank you so much for having me on your blog today. I am extremely happy to be here! L: It is a pleasure Katie! Tell us about yourself… K: You want to know a secret? Ok it’s not really a secret considering I am telling it on a public blog. I am a horribly shy individual. It actually works for writing. I am comfortable at h...

writer interview #8 :)

-- Writer Interview #8 :) -- As many of you are already aware, we are participating in a special event throughout April & May (Poetry & Library Month), helping to spread literacy and the love of reading to a wider audience. David Fingerman is our featured author of the day, and he can be found at: www.davidfingerman.com. * BK Walker has been behind this - the full schedule for the participating authors is: http://bkwalkerbooks.weebly.com/virtual-book-tours.html Q: So, David – tell us, what motivates you to write? I hate to sound cliché (a terrible thing for a writer) but pretty much everything motivates me to write. I can be taking a walk and something might catch my eye, or sitting in a restaurant and inhale an odd scent or overhear a snippet of conversation, or even be staring at my computer screen when I'll get a flash of an idea. Then my brain goes " What if . . .?" And with a little twisting around ~ there's the beginning of a new story. I...

Interview !

-- Writer's Interview -- Today's interview is with Aurora Lightbourne - a Sci-Fi/ Fantasy writer who lives in Midwest, USA with her husband and furry kids. She is currently working on a futuristic adventure series, Space Trippers . http://alightbourne.netau.net Q: What motivates you to write? A: I love telling stories, if I am not writing them down I am entertaining family and friends with funny stories and conversations. I had to be a writer because I have this overwhelming urge to get the stories and people in my head down on paper to share with others. The people living in my head want their story told. Q: How do you spend your writing time? A: Curled up on a couch with a laptop, Sisson's Synonym finder and internet search, swamped by cats and listening to my Husband play video games. This is my typical writing time. Occasionally I get time to myself and spend it in blissful silence or listing to instrumental music, talking and songs with lyrics tend to distract me. Q: ...
