Recommended Resources

Recommended Resources It is not what happens to you, but how you view it… the stories we tell ourselves about what happened – we could focus and stress and tell ourselves all sorts of stories about how awful or mean or spiteful or greedy or unjust or hurtful something was. Or we can tell a different story. Yep that happened and it sucked – big time. But does it have to become something we hang onto? …and how long will we continue to hurt ourselves day after day, year after year? That event happened an hour ago, a day ago or 10 years ago. It was over moments after it happened. What we tell ourselves about it is where we can reclaim the power. https://www.ted.com/talks/matt_weinstein_what_bernie_madoff_couldn_t_steal_from_me -- Compassion, empathy, inclusion, accepting... this is what teens need more than anything - especially when they are feeling perceived as "different" or "unusual". https://www.ted.com/talks/joel_burns_tells_gay_teens_it_gets_better -- With ...

What we can do about the problems youth face

-- Quote of the Day --  “The reason why there is a deficit in participation – is that the mass media projects the message that you are not enough, that someone else is prettier, more inventive, more creative; but the exact opposite is what is true. And so the more that people recognize that right where you are is what you need to set the world on fire – you can shake the world up with just one awakened consciousness at a time.  …I’ve discovered that there is more in me that I sometimes give myself credit for, I have the ability to be resilient, and if I procrastinate someone loses… I now recognize that I have a direct link to the success and well - being and heights that someone else can reach. …I want people to know that we are designing our lives either consciously or unconsciously – but if we are unconsciously designing our lives then we are giving away the power over our lives, that we are living someone else’s script. …A lot of the teens out there are suffering fr...

Recycling News, Attaining Goals

-- Quote of the Day -- " Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and, Above All, Confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted  For something, And that this thing, at whatever cost Must be attained" ~ Marie Curie -- Chatter -- As many of you are already aware, I have made a promise to myself (and others) to take 3 full days out of the office - which is important when you work from a home office, one that never goes away. So it is that time again where I'll be shutting the door to the office and not opening it again until Monday morning - the 12th of July. As such I've taken the liberty today to create a larger post, hoping that you will find lots of things to peak your interest here while I'm out of the office for the next few days. ...I would like to encourage all our blog readers to visit the links available on the sidebars located on this blog.  -- Conscious Discussions Radio -- ...
