Great news!

* Source: The Moss; Columbia Land Trust Foundation' s newsletter According to a recent e-newsletter published by  Columbia Land Trust Foundation , they along t he Wiancko Family have worked together for decades and have now successfully conserved  more than 800 acres of forestland in eastern Multnomah County! Eco - events

Eco - Events Seedy Saturdays ... have you ever been to a seed exchange? It can be an experience to remember. As you stroll down the booths, you'll hear interesting conversations with knowledgeable gardeners, farmers who have deep roots in the area -  possibly for generations. Depending on the size of the event, you'll see a huge array of varieties, most of which you've probably never heard of and be introduced to all shapes, sizes and colours of pretty much anything you can think of.  Attending events like these also introduces local food and beverage producers who are offering snacks and refreshments. You'll learn of groups and organizations (both big and small, unofficial ones) that may peak your interest. Often, non-profits will display information packages where you might learn about citizen science projects in your area, things your kids can get involved in, learn how seniors are helping the non-profits, and much more.  *if you would like your event listed he...

To address these issues, USC Canada and the Cooperative Tourne-Sol Farm invite seed growers and vegetable gardeners from the region to gain a better idea of the different stages of seed production, with a focus on seed cleaning. Green Cities

-- Quote of the Day --    “People who become involved are getting involved with the large picture… almost anywhere that you go, the greening of the world can happen through your actions – circling from the individual to worldwide.” ~ Cindy Katz http://tobtr.com/s/4660327   (*Click on the link to access the full discussion with Cindy) -- Conscious Living Event --  May 20 Waste Expo 2013 Location : New Orleans, Louisiana – US   Info : www.WasteExpo.com    -- Positive News --  I was watching one of my favorite TV documentary series – Architects of Change - recently and learned of some interesting green city initiatives going on here in Canada.
