-- Quote of the Day --  " My future starts When I wake up every morning... Every day I find something  Creative to do with my life ." ~ Miles Davis  Poetry For Significant Other... July is Buy Poetry for Your Lover Month (or significant other)... This is the time to purchase a book or chapbook of poetry for someone you love - it can be anyone, your secretary, your parent or child, your lover, your friend.  This day is set aside in an effort to support writers in the poetry genre. Feel free to drop by my site to check out Towards Understanding , my book of poetry, and some excerpted poems on the site. Here's an opportunity for poets to get some exposure for this significant writers holiday, but it must be taken advantage of before July 1st: Jack Huber has offered to provide links via his social media networks for sites selling poetry and art in celebration of Buy Poetry for Your Lover Month. Worries, Illusions & Leprechauns

-- Quote of the Day --   “Face your worry and see it as an illusion. It cannot exist unless you give it power and give it life.”  ~ Robert Anthony -- Authors Read Radio -- It is an honor to feature author/illustrator Jeremy McGuire and his intrepid leprechaun today on Authors Read , While his first critically acclaimed book, A Boy and His Leprechaun , focused on seven-year-old Bobby Mahoney's adventures with O'Shaughnessey, the second book is for an older audience and involves the adult Bobby's daughter, twelve-year-old Margaret McNeill Mahoney. Bobby, however, has lost the ability to see leprechauns and is only faintly aware of ever having had it. Join us while we hear Jeremy introduce us to O’Shaughnessey – The Faerie Circle . There's a link to this MySpace blog of mine, but to make things easier I'll include one below as well: http://blog.myspace.com/canadianauthor  Yesterday, after slaving away mowing our lawn which had grown to momentous sizes after a week of wet weather, I spontaneously invited a neighbor over for a break. It was quite nice really - and is totally out of character for me to do. I usually stick to myself and our close circle of friends, and with neighbors one doesn't always wa...

Water Awareness & Caregiving

-- Apologies... -- Apologies to our blog readers - Thanks to all who wrote to let me know that the link on yesterday's post for the interview on Book Cubby was not working correctly. I have edited yesterday's post so it should be working now. And here's that link for the interview once again... (sorry about the error!) -  http://www.thebookcubby.com/authorinterviews.htm  -- Water  Awareness -- Today, June 8th, is World Oceans Day - and we are also in the middle of Rivers to Oceans Week . Appropriate - I suppose with what is going on in the oil industry... but they are far from the only polluters. Of course this last disaster is really beyond imagining and we might look at something like that, such as industries pouring pollutions or cities and boats pouring sewage into the ocean, and we might start feeling like the little things we are doing won't make a difference. But they really do.  Awareness celebrations for waterways are a great opportunity to increa...
