Great Resources & Writer Interviews

-- Brummets in the Media -- The Brummet's Conscious Blog is awarded as being a Versatile Blogger :   http://walkermuse.blogspot.com/2010/07/walkers-muse-has-been-awarded-versatile.html Check out the link above, when you have time - to learn about the latest award we've been given! This award came most unexpectedly and we certainly feel honored to have received it .  According to the rules, I'm required to: 1. Thank the person who loved me enough to bestow this gift. 2. Share seven things about myself. 3. Bestow this honor onto 10 newly discovered or followed bloggers–in no particular order–who are fantastic in some way. 4. Drop by and let my ten new friends know I admire them. So, first let me thank the Walker Muse Blog for bestowing this award on us.  Now for the seven things about myself - Well, you already know I am a writer, host of 2 radio shows, author of 3 books... Perhaps you already know I am 40 and married for 20 years and that my husband a...

Facing Fears & Loving Poetry

-- Quote of the Day -- "The Key to success if for you To make a habit throughout your life Of doing the things you fear." ~ Vincent Van Gogh -- Chatter -- Hi everyone! I'm back!!! My break from the office went very well - however I did return to over 300 emails and a long list of to-do's on the office schedule! Holidaying from the office for my 3-days-per-month is also a time of holiday'ing from the house... So Dave did the cooking and dishes, and the laundry and other chores got set aside for... well... now, I guess. :) As such, I'm a little behind on virtually everything today! Technical issues prevented us from having the computer and office in working order in time for today's Authors Read radio episode, however I'll work on rescheduling this episode later today. Apologies for the inconvenience.  -- Buy Poetry For Your Significant Other Month --   As promised, this blog will be celebrating B uy Poetry For Your Significan...

Recycling News, Attaining Goals

-- Quote of the Day -- " Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and, Above All, Confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted  For something, And that this thing, at whatever cost Must be attained" ~ Marie Curie -- Chatter -- As many of you are already aware, I have made a promise to myself (and others) to take 3 full days out of the office - which is important when you work from a home office, one that never goes away. So it is that time again where I'll be shutting the door to the office and not opening it again until Monday morning - the 12th of July. As such I've taken the liberty today to create a larger post, hoping that you will find lots of things to peak your interest here while I'm out of the office for the next few days. ...I would like to encourage all our blog readers to visit the links available on the sidebars located on this blog.  -- Conscious Discussions Radio -- ...

Save Money this Summer

-- Save Money This Summer -- Run dishwashing machines early in the morning (at 5 AM or earlier) or wait until late evening to turn it on - These machines produce a vast amount of heat, which can tax our cooling systems greatly. Air dry your dishes instead of using the dry cycle in the dishwasher – open the door of the dishwasher and turn on the ceiling fan nearest to the appliance to circulate the moist air around your home. The steam will dissipate quickly, grab a towel and mop up the top rack cups and other dishes where water accumulated, and leave the door open so that the dishes will dry more efficiently.  -- Buy Poetry For Your Significant Other Month --   As promised, this blog will be celebrating B uy Poetry For Your Significant Other Month (July) by sharing poetry from published writers. Submission guidelines can be found on the July 3rd posting on this blog. (scroll down to find previous posts). Today, I will share a poem excerpted fr...
