" ~ Author Unknown -- Brummet's in the Media -- Drop by the Intentional Life radio show, hosted by LaShawn McCrary - for a discussion about my experiences with writing and finding purpose in life. (Click on hyper-linked show title to find the interview). Learn about how I grew up, how I started a professional writing career, where my passion for the environment began and much more. Recovery & Tubes

-- Quote of the Day -- “ Over the years I’ve counseled many patients who felt stuck as adults and were recreating the same situations they experienced in childhood. I was struck by how many of these people felt they were responsible for traumatic experiences that came at them from parents or significant others.  …And I found myself telling them that ‘It never was about you’. …And the tears would just start coming; because on some level people really did feel that it was about them, that they made mistakes, or did something wrong to cause it. And they experience a great sense of relief… but it is their responsibility to find a way to pick up the pieces and make their lives better. ”    ~ James Kriebel Drop in the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio show to find the Nov 4, 2010 archived interview, where this quote was taken from, or visit the hyper-linked show title here: Overcoming Childhood Trauma -- Positive Eco-News -- The options for recycling materials such ...

Greening Schools & Volunteering

--  Quote of the Day -- “[volunteerism with family] – It was our youngest son who went with us, who was 14. …I think to take a child [of this age] to an area [like Rwandan] offered lots of opportunities; it literally changed his perception of the world. He just got so taken in by all these other kids. All they had was… just their clothing (donated) and hardly any books, …only two meals a day – of usually the same stuff.  …And the average person there lives on one dollar a day, or less. …but this changed his perception – he’s realized how fortunate he is, how much stuff he has that isn’t needed at all in order to be happy. He saw these kids who wanted more than anything else to learn, …and that’s the thing that had the biggest impact on him, and I noticed a change for him when it comes to school, too.”  ~ Gabriel Constans Today's quote originated from the Nov 2 C onscious Discussions broadcast titled: Rwandan Orphan's Project   ...Check it out via the hyper...

Networking & Year-End Activities

-- Chatter -- This is an exciting day for me. Yesterday, I was able to reach a third of our contacts with a personal email sharing our appreciation for their work and offering more networking opportunities for 2011 and beyond. We have also started the official announcements letting folks know of the affiliate opportunities that we have going on for 3 of our books, so far. (see the "store" on our site: Brummet.ca ). I've already completed the year-end chores for our radio show, and now have to make sure that the marketing files are in equal shape by the end of the month. So I guess you know where I'll be all week long - in the office! :) Still - it is a very exciting time since we'll be completing current projects and making way for new ones.  -- Conscious Discussions -- There have been a lot of changes happening, as you know, on our sites and blogs and also this radio show. This has all been in preparation for our 2011 projects, which we can hardly wait to...

Marketing & Used Oil

-- Quote of the Day -- “ I already had the speaking and consulting side of the business before the book came out, …and I kept on being asked by people who attended the seminars whether I had a book. ...The impetus for the book was just to be able to get bigger speaking gigs. …A human being has an enormous amount to give… There are so many distractions outwardly that we think are important… and have never been taught that there is something more special inside of us. …I believe purpose gives you a direction, when you have purpose than all the questions and challenges in life are extremely challenging. When you have purpose then you have something to measure those decisions against. ”    – Jeff Gitterman    Today's quote originates from the Holistic Business & Wealth Strategies interview that aired back on Oct 26, 2010 - Access the archived show via the hyper-lined title (above) -- Chatter -- Apologies to everyone expecting a Positive Eco-News segme...
