-- Quote of the Day --  “To cherish what remains of the Earth  and to foster its renewal  is our only legitimate hope of survival” ~ Wendell Berry -- Positive News --    --> Now here is something very cool for those of you interested in alternative energy sources and new lighting technologies that I learned of from Japanfs.org An innovative office equipment manufacturer, Green House Co., launched a new LED lantern product that can generate electricity using only water and salt. This product doesn't even need dry cells to store the energy, there are no batteries to charge. Simply by pouring some salt water into the lantern, little ions travel up a metal rod of magnesium to a carbon rod and that simple act generates enough electricity to power the 55 lumen light. How cool is that? -- Conscious Living Event --  Jan 28 – 31 US Composting Council 21 st Annual Co...

-- Quote of the Day --  “We started in our studio in our home, then our 2-car garage - then a 3-car garage about 3 blocks from our house… and about that point we brought on Easter Seals Colorado which does all of our labeling and bagging. So that eliminated a huge part of the business - now we have a crew of about 18 full time Easter individuals now at our warehouse.  …I didn’t really know what Easter Seals was about and what their mission was (before partnering with them) – which is ultimately to get these people into independent living situations with jobs… the ages range from older teenagers to upper 60’s, with all different backgrounds and skill levels. We are just so proud to have partnered with them, and so proud of each individual. …One of our best investments has been a business coach helping us with business ethics and she helps keep us on track. …We live a lifestyle now where in the middle of a Tuesday we can go for a hike, we can walk or bike to most p...

-- Parenting As A Catalyst for Inner Healing -- By Kassandra Brown, mother of 2 and self-employed entrepreneur at http://ParentCoaching.org , where she offers parent coaching by phone.  She is sincerely passionate about making a difference one parent, one child at a time. When asked recently what she does for fun, she responded “ Inner work. I love it when people let me into their inner worlds .” When one first hears the phrase ‘parent coach’ images of a soccer coach with whistle in the mouth telling you to do your parenting push-ups might come to mind. With that image you might think: “Who needs that?” The answer? We all do! Everyone needs someone on his or her parenting team. We would like that person to always be our spouse, friends, parents, and in-laws. Unfortunately those people closest to us are often the ones who drive us craziest. They show us exactly where we’re stuck. And no one shows us our clay feet better than our own chi...
