Stress in the Workplace

The Deadly Factors of Stress in the Workplace * Written by:  David Hults, Executive Career Coach, author, speaker, Executive Director of Activ:8 Peak Performance Network, Advanced Certified Birkman Consultant and Former Career Columnist - St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Visit  http://www.activ8careers.com  " Follow his blog at  http://www.careerstr8talk.com I recently talked with two professionals who had something dangerously in common - a heart attack this past Fall, which doctors said was caused by workplace stress. Today we also celebrate both National Flag Day and World Whale day .   To be honest... I didn't really know what National Flag Day was all about so out of curiosity I did some research online. As we know, the flag is a symbol that unites a nation, and Canada is quite proud of their flag because it symbolizes equality, diversity and inclusion. This special day was set aside back in 1965 to mark the first...

jokes

Jokey Joke Jokes A little something to lighten the day... -- I often worry about the safety of my children - especially the one that is talking back and rolling their eyes right now. -- Mirror, mirror on the wall... Seed exchange events Feb 22-29

Seedy Saturdays ... have you ever been to a seed exchange? It can be an experience to remember. As you stroll down the booths, you'll hear interesting conversations with knowledgeable gardeners, farmers who have deep roots in the area -  possibly for generations. Depending on the size of the event, you'll see a huge array of varieties, most of which you've probably never heard of and be introduced to all shapes, sizes and colours of pretty much anything you can think of.  Attending events like these also introduces local food and beverage producers who are offering snacks and refreshments. You'll learn of groups and organizations (both big and small, unofficial ones) that may peak your interest. Often, non-profits will display information packages where you might learn about citizen science projects in your area, things your kids can get involved in, learn how seniors are helping the non-profits, and much more.  *if you would like your event list...
