Poetry Time A professional drummer/percussionist and educator, Dave has collaborated on many songs that later led to him writing lyrics of his own. Most of his poems in this book were in fact initially written as song lyrics, thus the presence of repeating choruses though out. Actually it was Dave who first sparked the idea for the Brummet’s to walk this path they tread today – he decided to take a writer’s course to learn what he might be able to do with his short stories that he has compiled over the years. Most of those stories have remained unpublished to this day due to other projects taking precedence, but Dave plans to release some in the near future. His poem “UFO Dream” is the theme of one of his soon-to-be novels that he has been working on. Lillian began writing poetry as a teenager, which allowed her to express the issues and emotions from a broken home, abusive childhood and being on her own at 13-years old. Through poetry she learned how to see beyond these hurts and...

Kudos !!  We learned of Friends of Tryon Creek via Backyard Habitat Certification Program 's e-newsletter ...and had to share them with you here today. This conservation group works in the Tryon Creek State Natural Area, offering environmental internship, camps, talks, trips, working on restoration projects and more. The interesting thing here is they have been quietly doing this work for 50 years... it is time to celebrate their work and to publicly thank them :) https://tryonfriends.org/ ~~   Visit the Brummet's   Main Website Find them elsewhere online  HERE   ~~

Backlinks - What are they and how to use them https://amazon.com/author/lillianbrummet One of the tips we share in our Purple Snowflake Marketing book is the value of obtaining backlinks to websites and blogs, and how to go about getting them.  Because of this I was asked in an interview recently if, looking back, I now consider this endeavour as a waste of time – after all, it does not result in immediate sales or increased clients.  I can certainly understand how people might question the value of doing this time-consuming activity when there are so many other things pressing on the daily schedule. However it is a valuable task to fit in the schedule, none-the-less. First, let me try to explain what we are talking about here. When a website publishes a link to another website, it is a "backlink". On the Brummet's Conscious blog, for instance, we often publish an author interview and share their website for readers to follow up on, that is considered a "backlink...

Media Appearance - Author Interview We are so often interviewed or featured by media around the planet, however we are only occasionally featured in Canadian media... and I'm thrilled to share that the Canadian-Media  published an interview with Dave and I - discussing the world of writing and also Dave's experiences as a musician and drum teacher : Check out our interview on this publication : https://www.canadian-media.com/reviewsinterviews/we-focus-on-topics-that-lead-to-proactive-positive-sustainable-culture-lillian-dave-brummet ~~   Visit the Brummet's   Main Website Find them elsewhere online  HERE   ~~

Kudos !!  I'm sure most of our readers have heard of the concept of businesses and even entire countries purchasing carbon offset credits. This is done to put a value on the positive improvements others are doing, selling that credit to those who cannot yet make the transition to sustainability. It is a way of encouraging people to make the change and taking responsibilities for their own actions.  There are many ways to do this however today, I'd like to highlight the carbon credits available through TerraPass.com . They have created credits by choosing to use energy efficient equipment and lighting systems and going as paper-free as possible. The company also utilizes compost and recycle activities, but going beyond that they also reuse shipping and packaging.  The company's blog offers news and ideas about sustainable living, they plant trees via their partnership with Trees for the Future Foundation and they have made numerous efforts to offer green-living products a...
