-- Quote of the Day --

Re: relationships with others:

“A huge piece of getting real in our relationships – we have to look at ourselves first; we have to be willing to acknowledge what is our culpability is in any relationship we are in. …If you are not willing to look at what you are bringing into that relationship or what you are not bringing in to that relationship then it is more difficult for that relationship to move forward and being fulfilling for anyone involved. …Usually what we tend to do is point the finger outside of ourselves – be it to a situation or another person; we do that of course so that we don’t have to look at ourselves. …What are you doing or could be doing to move that relationship forward? …We get caught up with “that person is upsetting me” but really it is your response, their action goes through your filters and we allow it to affect us in that way. It is about becoming conscious, who we are and what we are bringing to the table – and dropping that victim mindset… the only person I can manage to change is myself.”

~ Udall DeOleo

Today’s quote originates from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio episode that aired back on May 12 … titled: Get Real In Relationships

I'll be talking about overcoming obstacles like abuse, accidents, depression and how I found a path toward understanding that I deserve to be loved, that my life has value and that I can have a purpose, discovering passions, and pursuing a lifestyle of proactive conscious living. I might even read poetry on this topic too if time allows.
