Time Management

Maintaining our media page is an annual task that has a lot of nostalgia for me. I like to, at this time of year, highlight some of the ones that had an impact on me. I hope you enjoy them too... Mr Marketology (Jeff) host of The Marketing Strategy Session asked me :  "With the books, blogs, youtube channel, gardens, music studio, dogs and everything else you have going on from day to day - how do you manage it all without working 23 hours every day?" In the summer I'm up as early as 5 AM to water and harvest before the heat of the day settles in. The computer or the phone is never far away and I am always aware of it. Because of the repercussions of a car accident I find I can hold a sustained position for no more than 2 hours at a time, then I have to get up and do something else.  What I find is that this is actually good because while I'm doing a chore or playing with the dogs or taking a coffee break - I am also getting a mental break. My mind gets a break while...

Using restless time constructively

Hi all!!! Winter can be a blahzeh time for some people... especially with COVID going on... keeping us more isolated, with a lower income and a reluctance to leave the home. There are plenty of things we can do and in fact I posted numerous articles offering dozens and dozens of resources and tips to help pass the time in a productive, constructive, restful and rewarding way.  To find them simply look to the right-hand side bar and browse blog post titles. Today I'd like to remind everyone of a page Dave created on our website offering the last 4 years or so worth of archived live radio show broadcasts for you to listen to. Our live radio show ran from 2007-2013. Everything from gardening to writing, parenting, therapy, music, job search and inspiring human and animal topics are covered in this time frame.  Check it out at:  http://brummetmedia.ca/radioarchives.html * There's no cost involved in listening to the archives. ...you may notice that because these go back seve...

World of Writing - Author Interview

World of Writing - Author Interview * Shout out to Nicole Ballengee of PRByTheBook.com for connecting us with today's guest. Sasha Olsen is a 10-year-old author, environmental activist, ballroom dancer, bookworm and pianist. Sasha enjoys anything artistic and easily finds new hobbies and creative things to do, which usually ends up in her trying to juggle everything that she is interested in. The experiences she had while on vacation in Asia and being raised within close proximity to the ocean fed her passion for the environment, which is one of the reasons why she became an author.  She lives with her family in Florida (US) where she also spearheads the conservation non-profit:  I Want My Ocean Back . Attending beach clean up events and writing articles to spread the word about the project keep her quite busy. We are honoured to feature Sasha today and invite her to share some of her experiences with her first book:   Legends From Mom’s Closet   Q: W...
