-- Product Review --
Tana Siebold, the Creative Director
with Orca Communications Unlimited LLC,
first made a connection with me on October 23rd with an invitation
to review Pure Health’s healthy weight management and natural energy products.
Pure Health (http://www.PureHealth100.com)
is a US based
company, headquartered in Las Vegas, NV with distribution outlets in Austin,
Texas.
Tana decided to send me samples of
these two products below, which I received in the main on December 23rd
2013:
Nature's Green & Lean Tea
Nature's Green & Lean Tea
Garcinia
Cambogia
Now I love drinking tea, hot or
cold, but especially enjoy hot tea on cool winter days and so I was looking
forward to trying the Nature’s Green
& Lean Tea… this is in fact the best green tea I have every had – it is
also my husband’s favorite, he tends to choose it over all other teas in our
cupboard. This tea
comes in a unique container – a cylinder shaped metal container and retails for
$11.99 (US). Each container includes 30 individual teabags; the bags are not
individually wrapped so there is no extra packaging, and bags are compostable
after use. Nature’s
Green & Lean Tea
is a blend of green tea and green coffee beans with spices and herbs including
cinnamon, anise, ginger, and stevia. These herbs combine to offer natural
weight control and energy stimulation. Green tea is well known for its
anti-oxidant properties, while green coffee offers chlorogenic acids. Most
herbal teas can be served hot or cold, but you’ll have to start with hot water
from the kettle and be sure to steep for 10-15 minutes. In the summer, chill
and store in a jug in the fridge, serve over ice. The company recommends that people drink a cup
or glass 30 minutes prior to each meal for best weight control benefits. Simply drinking a glass of water or tea
before a meal like this helps fill the tummy, making you feel fuller faster so
you eat less. Increased amounts of liquids are essential to any health regime
because they help flush the body of toxins that are released with both exercise
and weight loss.
I also
received one bottle of 90 capsules of Garcinia
Cambogia (retail value $26.99 – US); this product has no binders or fillers… directions are to take 2-4 capsules 3X per day, 30 min prior to
meals along with a 10 oz. glass of water for best results. The container is a brown
plastic bottle that provides protection from the sun and offers a 2-year shelf
life. Just 2 of these pills (encased in vegetarian capsules) also offer calcium
(6% Daily Value – a.k.a. “DV”), Chromium (83% DV) and potassium (3% DV). Garcinia
Cambogia is purported to block the body’s tendency to convert foods into fat,
therefore providing weight management benefits; it is also said to reduce one’s
appetite because it increases serotonin levels in the body, balances the lymph
system, and increases the production of new blood cells. However few people
have actually seen real results and some people (like myself) feel constipated
when taking this supplement, which I imagine is the reason behind the
recommendation of drinking additional water. The company also adds black pepper extract to
this supplement to enable better absorption. Garcinia, by the way, is an
extract from a small fruit known a as tamarind that grows in hot humid regions
like Indonesia and India.
