Opening with Dave's grandmother, Maria, who bravely travelled alone from a remote Romanian village to meet & marry a man she didn't know.

It continues with the life-story of her eldest son Tony Brummet, a Canadian politician. 

Continuing the saga, her second son Frank shares his memories starting with tales of growing up in the Okanagan Valley, where he later raised his children - including Dave.

Dave closes the book with an emotional look at how this memoir impacted him, that he would have never known about their lives in this way with out their written tales that they left behind.
