BOOK REVIEW - Windwalker -   By Donna Sundblad   The first try at reading this book left me feeling a bit confused. I found myself skipping ahead, hoping that the story line would become clear. Realizing I may be tired or affected by some pain medication I had taken, I decided to set it aside and come back to it another time. The thing is, the cover design is simply fantastic; it had me intrigued as soon as I saw it. I also recently read another book by this author that I got absolutely lost in, and so I really did have incentive to understand and fully enjoy this book. I had some time the following day to drop into Amazon to browse the book description and then read the book's intro page again to get some clarity before I gave it another try.  Upon the next reading, I was able to let the book take me on the journey. The author certainly knows how to capture the reader. The first few paragraphs were particularly well written, absorbing and teasing the reader into th...

When a reader leaves a review, or rating, for a book it validates the writer's efforts in spending years behind the scenes making that book available. It feeds the writer when times are tough and the inner voices break in telling us we are nothing.  Thank you readers for taking the time to leave a review :)  Poetic Wanderings Poetic Wanderings is a deeply introspective collection that guides readers on a reflective journey through memory, nature, and time. With themes of childhood nostalgia, love, loss, and identity, Brummet’s poetry captures life’s fleeting beauty and encourages personal reflection. Curated by Dave and Lillian Brummet, the collection explores how we navigate the past, hold onto memories, and find meaning in the present. From the outset, Brummet's vivid imagery evokes life's simple pleasures—often overlooked in the hustle of daily life. In the opening lines, "To roam meadows of memory, so far away. So long ago." , he sets the tone for a journey i...

Poetic Wanderings - reader's comments "Currently, I’m savouring Poetic Wanderings by Lillian and Dave Brummet. This collection is a gentle journey that evokes the feeling of a bee flitting from bloom to bloom, reminding us of the simple pleasures often overlooked. The poems invite readers to revisit cherished memories, with lines that stir up sweet melancholy and nostalgia.  Themes of childhood, solitude, and the passage of time are interwoven with reflections on life and death, prompting deep contemplation. I am enjoying the lighthearted anecdotes mingled with more profound thoughts, making each poem resonate on multiple levels.  The poet's  ability to capture the beauty of nature alongside the complexity of human emotions makes this a delightful read." Book Review I love the cover design for  Beyond The Fifth Gate ( by Donna Sundblad )! T ypically, book cover designers are not looking to tell the story, but rather stop readers from scrolling long enough to check out the book. This book cover design does both, hinting at the storyline without revealing hardly a thing. I like how the title is spaced between the planets to imply travel. I personally feel the book cover design for Beyond The Fifth Gate is exceptional.  Instantly after finishing Beyond The Fifth Gate - I kept saying: " What a fantastic read that was! "  I had to take several days to digest it a bit before writing my review article for this project. In that time, I've spoken enthusiastically to my husband about it and now he wants to read it too.  The author provides readers with an incredibly unique and deeply entertaining ride... I didn't find myself skipping ahead out of boredom (which I often do). In between reading sessions I found myself often thi...

In between managing those, she is also a published author and a book reviewer. That's one busy gal!  Dave joins us in this discussion, which is always a rare treat - as I'm usually doing media appearances on my own.  His insight into imagery, graphics, web maintenance and drum teaching are fantastic.  Check out the interview @: https://bookhookup.blogspot.com/2023/03/interview-with-authors-lillian-and.html  ~~~   Discover the Brummet's Books on Amazon :  https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0845RLK1X  Find Them Online via :  https://taplink.cc/brummet  https://linktr.ee/LillianBrummet ~~~
