Product Review

-- Healthy Dark Chocolate -- Who wouldn’t be intrigued and excited about reviewing a healthy dark chocolate (yum) that can help with weight loss? My first discussions about this review project with Jan Hrkach (CEO of True Healthy Products LLC – http://TrueHealthyProducts.com ) began on December 6 th and after some discussion, I was notified that the product was shipped out on December 10 th 2013. Product arrived here in South-Eastern BC (Canada) on Dec 20 th in a plastic envelope (recyclable) and a foil bubble envelope inside that along with a reusable cold-gel pack to prevent the chocolate from melting during shipping. I have to say that great care was put in the packaging for their product. They also took the time to include the Simple Chocolate Diet Guide (retail value $120 US), which held menu planning and great information for the nutrition novice. There seems to be a 2 step theory behind the company’s approach here – 1st: educa...

Healthy Eating Benefits Creativity

Dee Doan es is the author of the paranormal mystery fiction book, The Man With the Green Suitcase . She’s active in several charities and conducts a youth poetry workshop for the Atlanta Writers Club Youth Writing Camp, and is the former co-chair of the Writing in the Schools Program for Georgia Writers. I asked Dee to tell us a little about herself and this is what she had to say: “ I’m Dee Doanes, a writer and healthy food and healthy living enthusiast.   Most people know I’m a writer but I’m also a life-long healthy food enthusiast. Or, as some close friends call me, “a health food nut.” Writing is important but eating healthy is even more important. Without eating healthy food on a regular basis you don’t have good health, which affects everything in your life, including the creativity of a writer. It makes sense for writers to eat healthy foods to increase creativity so they can tell their wonderful tales.” www.deedoanes.com Writers Can Boost Creativity By E...

Of Waste, Food & Soil

-- Quote of the Day -- “… many people are sensitive to sugar, fat and salt – especially in combination, as in fried potatoes – When we eat sugar, our brain produces feel good chemicals and takes away the painful feelings. …but what will happen is that the feelings will return because the blood-sugar will drop. …There was a study with two groups of rats who were fed sugar and cocaine – the ones that were feasting on sugar had a much more difficult time when they were detoxing, then the group of rats that were detoxing from cocaine. …As we age our metabolism will slow down a bit and Menopause will cause some body changes and we may feel like taking a nap a little more – but it doesn’t mean that you need to slow down. …Staying well hydrated and getting a good night sleep is more important than we may not realize. If we don’t get enough sleep, our bodies produce a hormone that causes increased hunger and another hormone that increases stress.  …Dehydration feels li...
