Downpour Pitter, patter, trickle and pour, Drip, drop, plop bouncing off my umbrella. Splish, sploshing in the puddles, BOOM, zap, crack! The sky is alive and aglow, Glaring me in the eye. The howling gales blows through me, I lose my feet, I land in a heap. Soaked through to my shivering core, More and more she pours. I’d rather be sipping hot cocoa, warm and dry. Than slipping and dripping, wet through. ~~~   Discover the Brummet's Books on Amazon :  https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0845RLK1X  Find Them Online via :  https://taplink.cc/brummet  https://linktr.ee/LillianBrummet ~~~ ...

Eleventh Hour Have you ever noticed in life that things can look really bleak just before a dramatic turn for the better? The business man reports that just before he made his fortune, he was about to quit.  He was up the creek without a paddle when, suddenly, everything began to fall into place.  He hung in there just long enough to reap his rewards. Perhaps you have had the experie...

Happiness Requires Effort

Happiness Requires Effort * Today's article was submitted by our monthly contributor Elise Smith (a.k.a Sheila) who has several books available on  Amazon .  Elise invites our readers to reach out to her via  FaceBook .  Today, she explains how our mindset can impact every goal we have. “There ain't no such thing as a free lunch!” Insects and animals are always busy; preparing for winter, getting ready for spring, washing themselves, cleaning their nest, feeding their young and doing the things that animals and insects do.  They are a hundred percent alive and involved.  They also appear to be particularly content. We can learn from animals.  To be happy we need to be industrious.  When we let things slide, it costs us.  Things don’t improve when we neglect them.  Things only improve with effort. Our attitude to effort is important. We need to put in the effort because we WANT to do it; because it is our privilege and joy to learn, to te...

Make The First Move

Make The First Move * Today's article was submitted by our monthly contributor Elise Smith (a.k.a Sheila) who has several books available on  Amazon . Elise invites our readers to reach out to her via  FaceBook . Today, she explains how our mindset can impact every goal we have. We have to make the first move. As long as we stand around on the edge of things, unprepared to jump in, the universe seems to take the attitude:  “ Well, you don’t seem very serious about this. Once you’re committed, then you’ll get some help. ” The moment we decide:  “ I’ll do this thing, no matter what! ”  ...we somehow tap into the genius, power and magic around us. Everybody who achieves in life, makes decisions to do so.   They say:  “ I WILL do it. ”   Those who proclaim: “ I’ll give it my best shot,”  “I’ll have a go”  “I’ll try”  ...will likely come home early.  We need to get serious if we hope to get results. It is best that we als...

We attract what we fear

We attract what we fear * Today's article was submitted by our monthly contributor Elise Smith (a.k.a Sheila) who has several books available on Amazon . Elise invites our readers to reach out to her via FaceBook . Today, she explains how our fears impact our lives. The things we most love and most fear will tend to occupy our thoughts much of the time, so will we tend to attract those very things. Have you ever totally ruined a new suit of clothes the first time you wore them? Just as you were thinking to yourself, “I don’t want to dirty this lovely new shirt of mine ”, your ballpoint pen was leaking blue ink into your top pocket. If we say to our mind, “ I don’t want “A” to happen, we will gravitate toward “A”. Our mind cannot move away from anything, only toward something. A magazine recently published an article about a New Yorker by the name of Pete Torres who, at the time of publication of the story, had been mugged fifteen this year. This we believe may be some dubiou...

What We Think About Matters

"We gravitate towards what we think about most."  ~ Elise Smith * Today's article was written by our regular blog contributor, Elise Smith - who invites you to visit her Website , j oin her FB group A Journey Of Transformation  for New Zealand writers and bloggers   - & - drop by her Facebook page .    Let’s spend some time examining how what is on your mind affects what is in your life. You will always gravitate toward what you think about most. How often have you found yourself in precisely the situation that you said you didn’t want? The principle here is: When you think about something, you move toward it. Even if you are thinking about something you don’t want, you will move toward it. This is because your mind moves toward things, never away from them. If I say to you, “ Don’t think about a pink elephant with big ears and purple spots and wearing shades !” - What will fill your mind? An elephant! Do you ever say to yourself, “ I mustn’t forget that...

Writing Influences... or kinda influences?

My Writing Influences Today's article was written by   Elise Smith. of :  https://www.mynzdreamblog.com I was asked recently, “ who has influenced my writing? ”  I do have favourite authors such as Wilber Smith, Bryce Courtney, many true stories and dozens of poets that I adore, but I cannot say these people are the biggest influence on my writing . I like these authors because they bring back nostalgia of my mother telling me stories about growing up in South Africa.   I like true stories as it reminds me I am not alone on this journey of life and I am drawn to poetry for release and comfort. What influences my writing are real life experiences, my own and others who have come through similar.   Writing about my life and sharing it with the world in hopes of inspiring and encouraging others has helped me immensely on my healing journey.   Writing my stories was like diving into the dark abyss, turning on-the-spot light, grabbing my demo...
