Kudos !!

Kudos !! The Wildboy Creek project conserves 1,300 acres of forestland in the upper reaches of the Washougal River system in Skamania County, Washington (US). The Columbia   Land Trust conserved the area with the goal of partnering with the Cowlitz Indian tribe to remove a 45-ft. dam that has outlived its purpose and restore the watershed for salmon and steelhead. In the years ahead, ecologically and culturally important salmon and steelhead will be able to return to their ancient spawning grounds above the dam. Cedar waxwings, American dippers, and other birds will continue to sing their songs, and the only damming done on the river system will be by beavers. Read the press release to more about this project and funding partners, and check out the short film about Wildboy Creek: Meander . ~~ Visit the Brummet's @:  http://BrummetMedia.ca ~~

free art lesson

* Written by: Liz Clayton Fuller: Scientific  Illustrator and Course Instructor   In times like these we could all use a bright spot, and thankfully, nature is always there for us. The world keeps turning and the birds keep singing for us, so I’ve found myself taking my sketchbook into my backyard to appreciate the small yet oh-so-important things. When I’m nature journaling, my mind relaxes, wanders, and wonders.  When I open my sketchbook, the noise of the world fades away and I’m left opening my senses to the natural world around me. Practicing Nature Journaling and Field Sketching keeps me rooted in the exact moment I find myself in, recording the tiny details of a plant pushing forth from the earth, noticing the cool pale grey colour beneath the wings of a Mourning Dove, listening to the wind rustling through the trees—and for this time my mind is at peace, pondering the intricacies of nature. I wonder why the underwing of the dove is such a cool grey com...

Product Review

Product Review Hemp Towels / Washcloths / Pads Today is the third installment of a 3-part product review series we published here on this blog. Jesse Clymer, from HempAuthority.com , sent several different items, so we split them into groups. You can find the 2 previously published articles on   April 21st   and   May 8 th . As a crop, hemp offers incredible benefits to farmers and the environment. The taproot of this plant reaches very far down into the earth, pulling up valuable nutrients from deep in the soil and bringing them up for the next succession crop to benefit from. The plant can actually cleanse contaminated soil, while the leaves produce more oxygen and sequester more carbon dioxide than any other crop. The plants require no fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides and require a great deal less water than many commercial crops. According to Canada.ca hemp has proven to “ be a hardy, fast growing, resilient and high yield crop ”. In fact, 1 acre ...

Using Resources, Comments and Signatures

Write Powerful Resource and Signature Lines * Today's article was written by: Jan Verhoeff, who invites our readers to  visit her at: http://janverhoeff.com and learn how to generate more traffic.   Guest blogging can be a made for the web SEO advertisement for who you are, what you do, and where to connect with you, if you do it right. Either way, if you're doing what you can to create powerful, enthusiastic, and valuable content, the reader benefits. Guest blogging on someone else's blog can benefit you greatly, but it can also be a huge benefit for the person who sponsors your post. And it really should be both, but always a blessing to the reader. Add Value - ALWAYS. Your resource box should include specific connection information, so your readers can contact you. But first a question, so they have a reason. Do you need more information? Or some likeness to that questi...
