I'm so pleased to announce this interview I was invited to do with podcast hosts Damian Nesser and Samuel Geiger. Drop in to the Life Is a Classroom Podcast to hear the discussion.  In this discussion we cover some of the benefits of gardening - and ways you can save money by shading sun-soaked windows and decks, produce food, and making a difference for bee or butterfly populations. Falling Back in Love: 7 Steps to Saving Your Relationship  Indie Best Writers Contest 2014 winner (in the Relationship Writer category), Dr. David Stevens brings experiences from a 50-year marriage (so far), and 40 years counselling or teaching others into the creation of this book. Speaker and author, deep-thinking spiritual leader... are only a few words that describe this man.  I've known him for about a year now via a weekly writers group we both attend, and I've had the honour of having him as a guest on my blog for an author interview. David Stevens, he's the man with the golden, soothing voice - if you ever get a chance to hear him read live, or speak somewhere I highly recommend it. I ordered both of his books on Amazon, and am thrilled to be able to support him by writing this review.  The music lover in me was pleased to read the story of David taking a proactive step in reducing his stress. You see, he was arriving home from work with a high stress level, so ...

Just how do you manage a writing career? Well, it begins with acknowledging that you are an entrepreneur and that it is time to run your office as a business. You are en entrepreneur whether you are a: • Freelance writer • Copywriter • Editor, formatter, cover designer • Published author • Spoken word poet • Assignment writer   • Branching out into multiple writing and media genres in order to keep a steady income flow   • Have one book that you haven't published yet, but plan to.  Regardless of where you fit in all of that - you are running a business and before you go any farther it is really important to take a few days to understand your situation with a 5-year business plan.  The 5-year Business Plan has 2 sections; the first will touch on everything from: • Financial needs analysis and taxes • Operations, processes and policies • Examining future goals or projects  Understanding these things puts you in a better position going forward...

With this  Recommended Resources  series I have the pleasure of sharing some great resources which can include  - positive impact organizations and events, citizen science projects and links to helpful articles. Straight Talk podcast interviews Patricia Zurita (CEO of Birdlife International )  to discuss efforts to help China protect and preserve coastal wetlands, migratory birds, the importance of women leaders in the conservation movement, and needing more champions of nature. She shares insights on nature’s solutions to humanity’s problems, BirdLife International and global cooperation, and the need to tackle the biodiversity and climate crises in tandem.  https://soundcloud.com/user-544863960/episode-63-patricia-zurita?mc_cid=e2e55417aa&mc_eid=310b6cd3fb --- The Cornel Lab Institute published this fantastic article on how to prevent birds from accidentally flying into windows and other similar surfaces:  https://www.allaboutbirds.org/news/why-birds...

You may have noticed little updates & interesting changes happening on both our blogs, the  Brummet Media Channel  &  Amazon Author   Page in numerous locations (see below), among a few other sites. I wanted to share a little about what's been going on here today. Over on Amazon, we have created a brand new landing page for every book, and for each format that we have each book available in. Whew! This involved a lot of research, looking at the top 100 sellers in that genre, deciding what we liked about what they were doing with their landing pages. Then, using the tips and formulas we learned recently, created - what I think are - something quite special for each book.  Dave was working hard behind the scenes and late into the nights on the technological side - from formatting, working with Amazon's author console, creating new images & ads & audio, tweaking copy & creating a new book cover for the 2021 edition of Purple Snowflake Marketing...
