Book Review !

A huge hug goes out to Darcia Helle who posted a review for our green living series,  Trash Talk - It's Easy To Be Green .    Today I'd like to share with you her review of that book :   5 out of 5 stars  Her review titled:  Easy & Helpful Guide For All,  was posted on  Amazon.co m on March 21, 2023 " Trash Talk takes us through the 4 Rs of sustaining our planet - Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. It starts off by sharing some facts, such as the mere act of recycling can reduce the waste you personally contribute to landfills by up to 30%. Then we're given helpful and often fun ways we can cut down on our waste and reuse or recycle those things we're tempted to toss in the trash. The issues covered here are things everyone should be thinking about. We only have this one planet, and we're all borrowing it from our children. It's about time we started taking better care of their legacy. *** Thank you Darcia for sharing this review of...

Recommended Resources

The  Recommended Resources  series has been published on this blog since we transferred it from the  Brummet's Muse  biweekly newsletter that ran for 6 years or so. When we closed it down, we decided that sharing resources was just too awesome not to continue. With this series, Dave and I have the pleasure of sharing some great resources which can include - positive impact organizations and events, citizen science projects and links to helpful articles.  Feel free to check out their websites, and perhaps send them a note of appreciation for what they do. It would, of course, be fantastic if you see a way to network with them or get involved some how, or possibly share their information with your networks.  Kootenai Community Centre Society:  supports women and children with safe and supportive housing, one on one services, public education, and child care. https://www.facebook.com/kccsociety    -- Creston Duck's Unlimited: working to protect ...

Family Dynamics

"What Are Your Family Communications Like?" Nina is an online friend of ours and she is quite familiar with our books, blogs... and my family history. With her knowledge of that early broken family life, she asks: "What are your family communications like today?" With a mix of various personalities preferring different modes of communication and our busy lifestyle - it can be a challenge to reach out to family members regularly. However Dave and I found a balance that works for us. I found it an interesting question to respond to since my siblings and I only met my Aunt a couple times and were all on our own before the age of 16 and we were born about 5 years apart I think. It wasn't until I was closer to 30 before we all started really putting some effort in reaching out. After my parents' took their lives around xmas, we all bonded over that and the family support was crazy amazing. Connection was strong for a few years, but faded out since then to a casua...

Business Terms 2

We have produced several videos to date helping to define business & marketing acronyms & how they might apply to both a single person with one book all the way to a small business with an office or retail establishment.  This new series continues with this by looking into: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & ESG (Environment, Social, and Government) are similar terms used to describe the same concept. ESG is a term most often used by people involved with investors.  *  A bit of dyslexia showing there lol I accidentally said "CRS" instead of "CSR" a couple of times. Apologies... but you know what I meant, right? :) Learn how these can be used to benefit your entrepreneur journey today:     https://youtu.be/wr65n7g8ILw ~~~     Follow the Brummet's & Find their  Books:   on Amazon Visit:   Drum It With Brummet Blog Subscribe:   Brummet Media YouTube Channel   ~~~

Poetry Time

This monthly blog post series celebrates the world of poetry, sharing one or two poems per post - featuring other guest poet's work, or our own. The poem  Years Go By  (below) was excerpted from the book  Rhythm & Rhyme , one of the books in our  Playing With Words  series available, of course, on  Amazon .  Reading one's own work can be an emotional experience. We might cringe or cry or smile and feel pride... all at once. lol There's one phrase I want to clarify from below - Self Sufficiency - by this I meant standing strong within myself, without a need for crutches or continue walking wounded through life.  Check out the From The Author section below the poem:) Years Go By Years go by,  And by, And by. As they pass, words written Glow with memories. Witness the five-year phases Where goals shift  From “survival” to “recovery”; From “amalgamation” to “lifestyle”… To “passion”, “bliss” and “legacy”. From “education” – to “job secur...
