Beaded Hemp Jewelry

Jesse Clymer, from HempAuthority.comconnected with me recently (February 25) inquiring about our review policies and within a short time he had arranged for a package of items to come our way.
The package arrived just 12 days later (March 6th).  The exterior and interior bags were recyclable and there was no excess packaging inside. I’d like to mention here that it’s been a pleasure working with Jesse on this project – he’s professional and follows through quickly.

Jesse chose to send a variety of products, so I decided to split them into groups and offer a series of 3 seperate review articles instead of one very long one. * Watch for them on April 7th (today), April 21st and May 8th.

I resonated with this US company’s mission: “providing global quality-of-life by providing our customers quality and affordable products using innovative and sustainable business practices and encouraging the shift to more hemp-based products”.

Their in-house operations also reflect this passion for a more sustainable planet. For instance, the office does not print duplicate invoices and they communicate either online or via email – reducing paper consumption. They also reuse newspapers and packaging materials that came with deliveries from the manufacturers they work with. They are constantly working at reducing waste, cutting down on packaging, reuse, eco-friendly shipping and other ways of reducing the carbon footprint of their business.

Hemp fibres naturally offer antimicrobial and wicking properties and produce a very durable and long-lasting fabric, yarn and twine, which is why sailors used hemp rope.

As such you can be sure that these natural jewelry items will last a very long time.

The tight-wrapped hemp bracelets - $4 - will endure outdoor activities and are fun to pair up with other hemp bracelets.

The multi-twine beaded hemp bracelets - $4 - utilize various weaving patterns and feature multi-coloured beads.

The small (28 mm hoop) dream catcher earrings - $9 - available in a variety of colours – ranging from natural to bright red or vibrant blue. I really liked these! They are shipped with a string tying them securely together (as seen in the photo) to keep them safe during shipping. Well thought out!

They also sent us the hemp natural beaded necklace - $9 -it measures about 18” in length and therefore rides higher up near the neckline. It has this interesting twisting design that sets it apart from others that I've seen online.

The hand-made jewelry  uses a multi-weave style, and are asymmetrical - where one side of the necklace is slightly different then the other. Looking in closer at these items, it looks like tight-wrapping and macramé techniques are used.

When Dave and I started to examine them, he remarked how well made they are and that they would last a long time. I did notice the twine looked a little frayed, perhaps from handling or shipping, so I did trim the tiny frayed bits off so that the images would look better for this article.
