Zero Waste Week

Zero Waste Week today through to March 22^nd  begins... and there are likely events happening in nearly every community across the planet. Watch for community event announcements via the local newspaper and newsletters for everything from gardening fairs to composting workshops to retailers offering sales on eco-friendly products and gardening supplies, to city festivals and expos. 

In the San Francisco Bay Area of California (US)^:

The GrassRoots Recycling Network (GRRN) is partnering with the Northern California Recycling Association (NCRA) and the Zero Waste International Alliance (ZWIA) to sponsor Zero Waste Week including:.

- a two-day Zero Waste Update conference followed by meetings, tours, presentations and receptions.

On an international scale - for the past two years, youth leaders in Brazil, Sweden and the Philippines have organized Zero Waste Youth conferences to inspire and promote the concept of Zero Waste in the next generation. Organized by youth, for youth, the Zero Waste Week Youth Convergence will include a full day of visioning, organizing and celebrating Zero Waste and will empower youth to bring the Zero Waste message back to their schools and communities.
